GREENOLIVE

SOLAR-DRIVEN DECARBONIZATION FOR MEDITERRANEAN INDUSTRIES

Projects

A Solar Pathway for Industrial Heat

The Mediterranean faces rising temperatures and economic pressure. GREENOLIVE brings universities, companies and research centers from Italy, Spain, France, Türkiye, Palestine and Egypt to demonstrate how solar energy can replace fossil fuels in industrial processes. The pilot plant combines a 600 kWe photovoltaic field, Power-to-Heat electric heaters and packed-bed thermal energy storage based on locally available materials.
