European Development Days (EDD) are back again! The European Commission brought together personalities representing all the globe in a First Community Meeting that serves to give further insights on this year’s subject: Women and Girls at the Forefront of Sustainable Development: protect, empower, invest’.
EU-About was represented by three of their team members Teresa Dominguez, Imma Formisano and Guillem Sitges to give their thoughts on the meeting and to keep update on the latest news.
The first half of the meeting was conducted by Hannah Cole Head of Communication in DG DEVCO. A first explanation of the main topics to be discussed was followed by a Q & A round. The audience had the chance to expose their concerns and share their ideas on the topic. Monetary loses due to underuse of women at work positions, equal access to justice, the inclusion of all people regardless of gender, race or any condition and financing systems were discussed among others.
After a short break to recover some energy, some logistic aspects were discussed. The sessions will be divided into four different categories depending on the objective of the speech, the audience and the topics. This year edition will also include sessions to promote young leaders. If you wish to organize any event, do not hesitate to contact EU-About or visit EDD website for further information as the applications will close soon.
EU-About is very proud to be invited to this meeting. We hope to see all of you in the 2018 edition that will take places in 5-6 June in the city of Brussels!
